  Ceramic Coating Post-Care & FAQ

Congratulations on Protecting Your Vehicle! Your vehicle is now equipped with a Feynlab Ceramic Ultra V2 or Ceramic V3 coating. These coatings protect your paint, add deep gloss, and make cleaning easier. Like any protective layer, it performs best when cared for properly.

First 24 Hours

Most Sensitive Stage

  • Keep the vehicle as dry as possible.
Why: The coating is still bonding with your paint. Excess water or chemicals can interfere with proper adhesion.

  • If it rains or gets dew: Don’t panic — a small amount of water won’t ruin the coating. Gently drying with a clean microfiber helps prevent water spots.

  • Avoid touching, waxing, or polishing. Even light rubbing can disturb the initial chemical bond.

Days 2-7

Early Cure

  • Avoid washing, soaps, or chemicals.
Why: The coating continues to harden and crosslink. Chemicals or friction could weaken or disrupt the surface.

  • Normal driving and light water exposure (rain) are okay.
Why: By this stage, the coating is partially bonded and can handle minimal contact with water.

  • Try not to park under sprinklers or trees. Bird droppings, sap, or pollen can stick to a still-curing coating and may be harder to remove later.

Benefits you’ll notice:

  • Gloss & Depth – Paint looks richer and shinier.

  • Hydrophobic Effect – Water, mud, and grime slide off easier.

  • UV Protection – Shields paint from fading and sun damage.

  • Chemical Resistance – Helps guard against bird droppings, bug splatter, and road salt.

  • Easier Maintenance – Washes take less time, and drying is faster.

Curing Timeline After Application

After 7 Days

Fully Cured

  • The coating has hardened enough for normal hand washing.

  • Use pH-neutral soap and a soft microfiber mitt.
Why: Harsh chemicals or abrasive cloths can dull the coating or create micro-swirl marks.

  • The coating will continue to strengthen microscopically over the next week, but it’s fully functional at this stage.

Ongoing Maintenance

For Optimal Coating Performance

  • Wash every 2-3 weeks. Prevents contaminants from bonding to the surface and keeps water beading strong.

  • Hand wash only. Automatic car washes with brushes can create scratches or swirl marks.

  • Use pH-neutral shampoo. Dish soap or harsh cleaners strip protection and dull shine.

  • Dry safely. Use a clean microfiber drying towel or air blower — don’t let water sit.

  • Pro Tip: Two-bucket method (one rinse, one soap) reduces the risk of swirls and scratches.

  • Bird droppings or bugs? Remove quickly with a damp microfiber — don’t let them bake on, which can etch the coating.

Water spots after rain? → Wipe gently with a clean microfiber → Avoid rubbing harshly

Light swirl marks or dust? → Hand wash with pH-neutral soap → Use proper drying method

Bird droppings or sap? → Remove immediately with damp microfiber → Don’t let sit more than a few hours

Stubborn contaminants (road tar, tree residue)? → Professional maintenance wash → Contact us if unsure

In Short

Keep the car dry for the first day, avoid washing for a week, then stick to safe hand washing. Come back yearly for your professional maintenance wash to keep the coating looking new and protect your warranty.
